A transitional estate asked for a courtyard that felt both architectural and lived-in. The pool's clean geometry is softened by a cedar pergola, ornamental grasses, and a single sheet of falling water — a quiet, daily sound that ties the whole space together.
Design Challenge
Soften a new-build's hard architectural lines without disguising them.
Lifestyle Outcome
A young family using the pergola as a second living room — homework after school, dinner under string lights into October.
Unique Feature
A single sheet of water across a stainless weir, hand-leveled until the sound was unbroken across the full eight feet.
